Poço 4.0 – Beginning of a transforming idea.
Poço 4.0 was the beginning of everything for Augen. A rich challenge in exchange for knowledge, relations and ideas and that arose from the need and will to change processes brining solutions and concepts from the 4.0 industry to the reality of water treatment plants.

Challenge
The monitoring of water quality is ruled by federal legislation as well as ordinances from federal, state and municipal bodies, in order to eliminate health hazards.
On the other hand the control of the water treatment process still presents a quite significant part of its procedures carried out manually,
and these are not digitalized neither of extended execution. The products currently available in the market are not appropriate for the demand in the business,
as the information generated is not directly applied in the control of the process or quantification of the chemical parameters.
Augen identified a market opportunity in this scenario.
Why not developing a solution that can be more accurate,
customized and automatized for analysis and treatment of the water that reaches our homes every day?
Strategy
Based on the needs, Augen designed functional protoypes to read analysis and water treatment in a more automatized, accurate form, serving also as a management tool helping for decision-making. The starting point was the digitalization of the chemical/physical information and integration with supervisory systems, creating control modules for the addition of chemical products, the closest possible to “plug-and-play” concepts, reducing the startup time and achieving positive results with the control, besides allowing the remote access with the information provided.
RESULT
Production of a pioneering lot of 22 functional prototypes of multi-parameter analyzers / batchers – feeders, to be installed at collection wells in the city of Alegrete (RS) from the Riograndense Sanitation Company (CORSAN). With the implementation of the new solution by Augen, a cost reduction of 4 times is estimated for chemical products and 14 times for transport and workload, with an economic potential of around R$ 600.000,00 of annual savings for the city of Alegrete.
